Traditional formal wedding posing can be so restri Traditional formal wedding posing can be so restrictive. The artifice of hundreds of photos of the married couple looking uncomfortable and stilted, out of their comfort zone, doesn’t appeal. I direct my subjects gently, putting them at ease - it’s about doing less, not over-posing. Warmth travels down the lens. An uncomfortable bride at odds with her photographer is obvious a mile off. Some couples revel in the limelight though, whilst some take a moment to come into their own. Paul and Amy were the latter; most natural when I made myself invisible, shooting them in their own beautiful, informal moments of intimacy. The light wasn’t right after the ceremony, so we pushed their photos back, instead heading out after dinner. To get to the best location, Amy hitched up her dress and Paul & Harvey from @meros_films lifted her over the gate. The shots of the journey are just as beautiful as the shots we captured at our endpoint.
