Engagement Photo Shoot at Kent Wedding Venue Longton Wood
As most of my weddings during the Summer of 2020 were cancelled due to Covid 19, I made the most of those gorgeous evenings we had by getting out and doing as many photo sessions as I could during the Golden Hour. One of those shoots was for Kat & Sim. A gorgeous couple whose wedding I am going to be photographing at Rowhill Grange in Kent next year.
We went along to Longton Wood. A stunning woodland venue in Kent which is literally just down the road from where I live. Rather than shooting in the venue space itself, we explored the beautiful grounds that surround it, which have the most incredible views over the downs. We had a little picnic set up from Devoted Dreams for the beginning of the shoot (click the link to see a photo of Paul & I and on the website, taking advantage of this wonderful service at home!) but with so many areas to try and cover, we then moved on to the cornfield…….the scene that is captured here during the film takes my breath away!
Kat & Sim are both performers and so were just wonderful to photograph, their love, chemistry and passion for each other created such emotional images AND they treated us to some amazing dance moves and lifts too!
Outfits & Styling
They brought along a little case for outfit changes, something that I always recommend. It’s so nice to get some variation in your photos and you can also find that some outfits will photograph better than others. Ultimately, it means that you get to look like you have had more than one shoot which can never be a bad thing. Kat & Sim had 3 different looks here in total. Which is your favourite? Mine was the black dress and red lip.
As mentioned, there was also a film and that was from Mike at Mac Videography. It was pretty overwhelming when I saw it. Working beside Mike is always a pleasure. He is discreet, laid back and you wouldn’t really know he is there. So when I saw the film I was blown away! Be sure to expand it when you click so that you can view it in full screen.
Sometimes it takes doing a blog post to remind you just how wonderful a shoot was and my god I loved this one!! Longton Wood near Maidstone is such a gorgeous Kent wedding venue and what I love the most is that it’s family run and looked after by Jenny. She is so passionate about the whole thing and builds such personal relationships with all of her couples. She loves what she does and adores her venue and this really does make all the difference when it comes to planning your wedding. You don’t ever feel like you are just a number, Jenny makes it all so personal so that the whole experience of planning your wedding is a really joyful one.
If you are looking for a rustic, laid back woodland, festival wedding venue in Kent then Longton Wood is just perfect. While it’s a blank canvas, it also has so many beautiful features that make it unique.
