Further to my previous post here where I was shortlisted as the Perfect Wedding Magazine Awards, best photographer, I only went and did it! I actually won! Thanks to all of the readers of the magazine and people who follow my Facebook page, I managed to win, in a category with some extremely tough competition. I am absolutely over the moon and honoured to have won this coveted award. Never in a million years did I think little old me could do such a thing and I could not be happier.
I love the 1920’s style and it was exciting to have an excuse to get all glammed up. I remembered seeing this Kate Moss for Topshop flapper dress a few years ago and had always been annoyed with myself for not buying it. So I hunted it down and managed to find a brand new one from a lovely seller on Ebay. I teamed it with an ASOS headband, cultured pearls that my mum had bought me and my patent Louboutins. My gorgeous husband donned his smart blue suit and we were ready to go!
Best Wedding Photographer was the second category to be announced and I was so shocked when I heard my name! I left the stage shaking and feeling very emotional. I really couldn’t believe it. I was the happiest girl in the world and it was so nice to see Paul looking so proud of me. The first thing I did was call my mum to tell her 🙂
I didn’t take my camera along…. I thought i’d take the night off! but we did take lots of snaps with my iphone….
I drank way too much Prosecco and posed in every possible position with my award, but I had such a fantastic night and its one that i will never forget.
Perfect Wedding Magazine made a little film showing behind the scenes of the awards which you can view here
They also recently featured the party in their magazine. It seems weird seeing myself on the pages rather than my brides, but my boys think that “mummy is famous” which is so sweet 🙂
