Victoria & Anthony had both their Wedding ceremony and reception at Chilston Park Hotel in Kent. Having photographed so many weddings here now it is a firm favourite of mine and it was great to be back for this classy and elegant wedding. After briefly visiting Anthony in the library for some photos I went on up to the Star room to see Victoria and her bridesmaids where the wonderful Nicola Peen was doing to makeup. I always love what Nicola does and this was no exception…..Victoria looked stunning. I even had to mail Nicola after editing these photos to find out what she used because I loved the makeup so much. Once ready we moved into Chilston’s Queen Anne room for Victoria to get her gorgeous gown on. I just love this room as it really does have the wow factor and has that extra bit of light to capture all of the excitement in the last half an hour before the ceremony begins. Anthony had wrote little notes for Victoria to open at different stages of the morning and the final once was presented to her to open when she had got her dress on. I don’t know what this one said, but all I know is that this is one of the most romantic gestures I’ve ever seen and that it was lovely to capture Victoria’s emotion.
The ceremony took place outside at Chilston and it looked stunning. Victoria and Anthony stood just inside the Orangery while all of their guests were seated outside and it looked just perfect. As it was such a lovely warm and sunny day, everyone gathered outside for drinks on the lawn afterwards before heading into the Culpeppers Restaurant for the wedding breakfast and speeches. Culpeppers is on of my favourite rooms at Chilston and while I’ve seen it used for the ceremony before, never had I seen it set up for a Wedding Breakfast. It looked incredible, especially with all of the styling that Victoria had chosen. It looked just as beautiful when all turned around for the evening reception too and made a beautiful space for the dancing and celebrations to take place in.
Now, one last thing to mention is that Victoria had told me a few times about how much she disliked having her photo taken. She told me that she is not at all photogenic and that its one part of the day that she was not looking forward to. I always explain to my couples that they have no need to worry and that one of the most important parts of my job is to put people at ease. Victoria nodded but I could see she was still a little wary 🙂 As you will probably see from these photos, on the day, Victoria looks absolutely beautiful and completely at ease! She even said to me, I don’t know what it is but I am just loving all the photos and I really didn’t expect to feel like this. This made me so happy and as much as I love to capture beautiful photos, I know that if someone feels uncomfortable it will always come across in the photos so, for me, that is my biggest goal. The fact that I was able to help Victoria to feel this happy in front of the camera, really did make me feel proud. At the end of the post are some words from a note that Victoria sent to me after the wedding and I love the fact that I can make someone feel better about themselves. It makes me realise what an amazing job I have.

A little note from Victoria
Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for photographing our wedding last weekend. I was so worried about being in front of the camera but you put me so at ease that I done a complete 360 and was loving it within minutes! I’m so excited to see the images and can’t wait to relive the wedding and all the lovely moments I know you’ve captured 🙂 I’m recommending you to everyone I know and I haven’t even seen the images yet – I just know you have done an amazing job!
