Alfie & Ivy

During the Summer I came across the most stunning wheat field in Sittingbourne and it turned out to be the most wonderful location for family photo shoots.

I became friends with Helen after working with her at lots of weddings in Kent and then more recently, creating some editorial and fashion styled shoots together. Her children Alfie & Ivy are so gorgeous and it turned out Alfie had even done a bit of modelling before too.

We met about an hour before the sun was due to set so that we could take advantage of golden hour and I was SO happy with what we got. The field is really secluded, which meant that they could have a few outfit changes too! Something I always recommend if possible. I always think it’s nice to have a couple of different looks and will ask you to bring a few outfits for a number of reasons.

1) Some things photograph better than others ….. quite often I might not even know until I take the photo, so it’s nice to be able to chop and change

2) Make the most of me! Your shoot will last around 2 hours and if you have a couple of outfit changes, it can look like two different shoots, giving you more variations in your gallery and more photos to frame.

3) Clothes make you feel good. We know ourselves how an outfit can really lift your mood (I’ve even got a podcast all about this!) but we can express that. Kids sometimes don’t know how to convey this feeling to you but it really comes across in the way that they act and move and this is just everything for a photographer! The power of a good outfit that makes them feel pretty or cool can make all the difference to their whole demeanour which is then reflected in the photos.

Kerry is an unbelievably talented photographer, and her images are always beautiful. She did a portrait shoot of our children over the summer and we are soooo happy with the images! Kerry is also a lovely person and makes you feel very at ease in front of the camera, even if you don’t usually like having your photo taken. I can’t recommend her enough!!
