A wonderfully opulent Wedding at The Orangery in Kent
Anya & William’s Wedding just oozed class and elegance. The ceremony took place at Purley Church in Croydon which is a beautifully grand church and suited their wedding down to the ground. Arriving first, in dresses designed and made by Anya, the bridesmaids were stunning in blue, lace vintage style dresses and when Anya arrived I was blown away by how incredible she looked in her Pronovias bridal gown. After a beautiful ceremony, the newly married Mr & Mrs Fucilla left the church through a tunnel of confetti and made their way to The Orangery in Maidstone. As it took some of the guests a little while to arrive, we took a slow walk through the grounds to make the most of the sunshine and get lots of photos. Anya had said that she chose me to photograph their wedding because, working in fashion, she loved my editorial style and so I was really excited to make the whole thing like a fashion shoot….. which was pretty easy considering these two look like models anyway.
Once we knew that all of the guests had arrived, Anya & Will made their entrance across the bridge where they then greeted all of their guests while listening to the wonderful harpist. After a few group photos it was time for the wedding breakfast and I quickly popped into the room to get some photos before anyone entered. It looked spectacular and the beautiful sequin linen by The Sweet Hostess gave it even more of a WOW factor. Their Choccywoccydoodah cake was just to die for and tied in with their pastel opulence theme perfectly too. The speeches were hilarious but also very touching. The three best men gave the most wonderful speech which was a poem that had everyone giggling. I love to hear a bridesmaid or best friend do a speech as well as the best man, so it was really lovely when Anya’s sister stood up to say a few words.
Atmosphere was key at this wedding and it was quite clear how much work they had put into making everything amazing. The artist drawing caricatures while the guests sat on the lawn, the chairs all dotted around while guests sipped champagne in the sunshine and the harp gently playing in the background, it was all just perfect. Also, Will’s family are Italian so there were little nod’s to this throughout the day and I loved the fact that The Godfather was played on the harp 🙂
After the first dance and when everyone had been on the dance floor for a bit, everyone was instructed to make their way to the lake for a surprise. Guests were then treated to a big firework display which was accompanied by the most beautiful Operatic music. Everyone was wowed and it was so amazing to capture Will & Anya watching them together and the emotion between them. It was such a touching moment.
