I understand that booking a wedding photographer is a new experience for you. That’s why I’ve compiled some of my most frequently asked questions below. If you have any others, please feel free to get in touch and I can walk you through the process.

STYLE & APPROACH
How would you describe your photography style?
Emotional editorial. Fashion-forward with feeling. Romantic, soft and timeless too. I care just as much about how your images feel as how they look.
What does editorial wedding photography mean to you?
Creating images that feel like they could live in the pages of a magazine. Clean, natural, fashion-led and timeless. Not filtered. Not forced. Just beautifully considered.
What does fashion and feeling mean in real terms?
Fashion means I truly get it. I always have. My brides usually do too and want a photographer who understands how to show the dress, the silhouette and the details in the right way. But a wedding day is more than fashion. I capture the emotion too. The nerves, the pride, the love. That balance is everything to me.
Will our photos feel natural or styled?
Both. Natural and emotional above all else, but always captured in the most flattering way. I will guide and style your portraits so they feel polished and editorial, without ever losing who you are.
Do you give direction or let things happen?
A mix of both. Experience has taught me when to step in and when to step back. There is nothing worse than a camera pointed at you with no guidance, so I will always help you. But when I sense a deeper moment, you won’t even know I’m there. So many couples say “I didn’t even realise you took that.”
How do you photograph people who feel awkward?
Making people feel comfortable is my superpower. I read people and sense what they need. Sometimes that’s guidance, sometimes it’s space. I’ll demonstrate poses, make you laugh, normalise everything. And I’ll protect you when needed — sometimes that means taking you away from guests, phones, and comments so you can just breathe.
What makes your work different from other photographers?
Me. My experience, warmth, intuition, and emotional intelligence. I know what a moment needs. The art follows that.
Why do your images feel different?
Because I’m always watching. I’m deeply empathetic and I feel your day with you. That gives the images soul.
Can wedding photos feel like a magazine but still feel real?
Absolutely. The magazine feel comes from you as much as me. A fashion-forward bride is already halfway there. I simply give you the confidence to elevate the image without losing the reality of the moment.
HOW IT FEELS TO WORK WITH YOU
What are you like to be around on a wedding day?
Someone once described my energy as calm, warm, but excitable. I’m fully invested in your day. I read people very quickly — if something isn’t working, or you want out of a situation, I’m already there helping you.
How do you make couples feel comfortable?
I talk constantly while I photograph you. There is rarely an awkward silence. We talk, laugh, then I step back and let you be you. You’ll feel comfortable enough to tell me what you don’t fancy doing — and that’s exactly how it should be.
How involved are you?
Involved enough to protect you and create incredible images. Discreet enough that you forget I’m there. I work closely with your planner so the day flows beautifully and feels calm.
Do you help guide the day?
Only in terms of photo timings and flow. Your planner leads the day — I simply support it visually.
Do you keep things calm?
Yes. I’ve seen everything. Nothing phases me. If something goes wrong, you will never feel it.
What do couples say about working with you?
That I make them feel comfortable, safe and seen. And that I’m real. Not posh. Just human.

How long have you been photographing weddings?
Since 2009.
How many weddings have you photographed?
Honestly, I’ve lost count. I used to photograph around 40 weddings a year. Now I take only a select few.
Do you work with planners?
Yes, often. I love working as part of a team with the shared goal of creating an exceptional day.
Are you comfortable in luxury venues?
Very. It’s where I work most. Luxury venues are still full of real people — and that’s what I photograph.
How do you handle pressure?
Calmly and methodically. Weddings are high-pressure environments and I thrive in them.
What happens if the day runs late?
It usually affects photo time, which is why I work hard to protect your schedule. But we always make it work.
What happens if something unexpected happens?
We solve it. I never panic, and I always know who to go to — while keeping you calm.
ON THE WEDDING DAY
What time do you arrive?
For full-day coverage, I usually arrive around two to three hours before your ceremony. Earlier than that often isn’t needed — and many preparation photos are styled once you’re looking your best. We always plan this together.
How long do you stay?
Usually until what I call the peak of the party – but every celebration is different and we plan it around you.
Do you photograph bridal prep?
Yes, and I love it. The details, the emotion, the quiet moments. It’s the beginning of your story. The dad reveal, your mum holding your hand, these moments matter.
Do you photograph groom prep?
Yes. If you’re in the same location it’s easy. If not, I may recommend a second photographer.
Do you work alone or with a second photographer?
Both. I recommend a second photographer when it benefits your story.
How do you handle group photos?
I ask for a list in advance, guide you on timing, and enlist help on the day. Gathering people takes longer than photographing them — I handle the rest quickly and kindly.
How long do portraits take?
Usually around 20 minutes, sometimes split into two parts. It’s about balance — great images and enjoying your day.
What if we don’t like posing?
Most people don’t. And it never feels how you imagine. The best photos come from movement, laughter and connection. Any styling is light, relaxed and always followed by laughter.
How do you balance candid and guided moments?
By protecting your timeline. Your time with guests matters just as much as your portraits.

How do you capture real emotion?
By always watching, listening and anticipating.
How do you anticipate moments?
By observing people. Hearing laughter. Sensing when something is about to happen.
Do you shoot quietly or interact a lot?
Quiet when needed. Interactive when it helps energy and flow.
How close do you get?
It depends. I read the moment and I always tell you why if I move closer.
Do people notice you photographing them?
Sometimes yes. Often no. Both create beautiful images.
How do you capture moments without interrupting them?
Discretion, calm movement, and respect.
PRICING & VALUE
Why does wedding photography cost what it does?
You are not just paying for the day. You are paying for experience, preparation, editing, equipment, insurance, instinct, and trust. For someone who will protect your memories properly.
What do your prices start from?
Full-day coverage starts from £4000. Shorter coverage is quoted hourly.
Why do photographers charge such different prices?
Experience, skill, consistency and emotional intelligence are everything.
What are we really paying for?
You are paying for the art of noticing. For calm. For intuition. For emotional intelligence. For someone who can walk into any space and instantly know how to photograph it.
Do you offer smaller collections?
Yes. Intimate weddings and elopements are quoted hourly.
Do you offer midweek pricing?
Yes. I quote every wedding bespoke.
Do you offer destination pricing?
Yes. Travel is added transparently and clearly.
Do you offer payment plans?
A 20% reservation fee secures your date, with the balance due four weeks before your wedding.
Is wedding photography worth the investment?
It’s the one thing you keep forever. So yes — absolutely.
AFTER THE WEDDING
When will we receive our photos?
Your full gallery will be delivered within 4/6 weeks. I will also send you previews within 48 hours so you have something beautiful to enjoy straight away.
How many images will we receive?
This depends on the amount of coverage you choose, the size of your wedding, and the type of celebration you have. A quieter, intimate wedding will naturally produce fewer images than a 200-guest wedding with multiple events and entertainment.
Will they be edited?
Yes. I edit every image myself. My editing is subtle and timeless. Colours are balanced, skin tones are natural, and nothing is over-filtered. The aim is for the images to feel true, refined, and lasting.
Will we receive high-resolution files?
Yes. Your gallery includes both high-resolution files for printing and lower-resolution files for easy online sharing.
Can we print them?
Absolutely. You can download high-resolution files for printing, and your gallery also includes an integrated print shop.
Do you offer albums?
Yes. I offer fine art albums. Prices start from £800, and some collections include albums. You can also order an album at any time after your wedding.
VENUES
How do you approach new venues?
With excitement. I rarely view a venue in advance, but I always arrive early enough to explore and understand the space. Please don’t worry if I haven’t photographed your venue before….. fresh eyes can be a huge advantage. Some of my favourite galleries have come from first-time venues.
Do you work with venue teams?
Yes. I liaise with all relevant teams on the day. We all share the same goal, to make your experience exceptional.
Do you know the best places for portraits?
Yes. Light always comes before location for me.
Do you adapt your style to different venues?
I adapt my approach to you and your celebration. The venue supports the story…. it never dictates it.
Can we see a gallery from our venue?
If I have one and the couple has given permission, I’m always happy to share it.
DESTINATION WEDDINGS
Do you photograph destination weddings?
Yes! and I love them.
Which countries do you travel to?
Worldwide, though most commonly Italy.
How does travel pricing work?
I calculate travel and accommodation costs separately and present them clearly alongside your quotation.
Do you arrive early to scout locations?
Yes. I always arrive before your wedding day. Flight delays are risky, and I prefer to explore the venue in advance. If that isn’t possible, destination weddings often include welcome events or relaxed schedules which allow me to scout then.
Do you photograph different cultures and traditions?
Yes. It’s one of the privileges of my job – to observe and respectfully photograph traditions I wouldn’t otherwise experience.
TECH SPECS
What camera do you shoot with?
Fuji GFX medium format and Canon R6.
Why do you shoot medium format?
It has a beautiful, film-like quality and captures incredible detail. The files are large, which allows your images to be printed as large pieces of art without losing quality.
Why do your images look like film?
The Fuji system has a naturally film-like tone, combined with my soft, timeless editing style.
What lenses do you use most?
My Fuji 55mm is my favourite.
Do you prefer primes or zooms?
Primes.
Do you shoot in colour or black and white?
I shoot in colour and convert selected images to black and white.
What software do you edit in?
Lightroom and Photoshop.
Do you edit every image yourself?
Yes – every single image.
Do you retouch skin?
Yes, where needed, but always lightly. I keep texture and realism.
Do you use flash?
Yes. I use Profoto flash, which is also great for late-night, paparazzi-style portraits.
When do you use flash?
On the dance floor and in situations where lighting is poor or colour casts need correcting.
How do you light dark venues?
Sometimes I embrace the atmosphere. My cameras handle low light very well. Otherwise, I use flash or controlled lighting when needed.
Do you prefer natural light?
Yes , it’s always my favourite.
How do you work with bad light?
By overriding it with flash when needed, or moving you gently into better light when possible.
