Escape to Oz – An Inspirational shoot at The House Meadow.

Home/Press, The House Meadow/Escape to Oz – An Inspirational shoot at The House Meadow.
Being a very girly girl, this whole thing was an absolute dream to plan and then shoot.
It all started when Clare at The House Meadow saw the trailer for Oz The Great & Powerful and sent me the link.  The colours that emerge when the transition from black and white occurs are amazing and they really inspired us to begin planning a shoot that would incorporate this explosion of colour.   The grounds of The House Meadow are huge and so diverse that we felt we would be able to tell the story through all of the different scenes that we could create.  We also loved the characters and were looking forward to creating a wedding using them.
We spent so much time brainstorming, creating story boards and then collecting items for the shoot because we wanted to create something magical and inspiring.   Everyone who collaborated on this was just as passionate about it as we were and while it was very hard work, it was also lots of fun.   We were lucky enough to have Ignite Films come along for the whole day so that they could create a ‘behind the scenes’ film for us which you can view here.  Not only are Keith & Andy a real pleasure to work with, they also helped to create a lot of the images in the evening with their lighting.
We are so pleased with what we achieved as it is exactly what we had envisaged.  At the bottom of the page is a full credit list for everyone involved.  They are all wonderfully talented people and I highly recommend each and every one of them.
This shoot is also featured in the current edition of Perfect Wedding Magazine and you can see how it looks by clicking HERE

Becky Lord was kind enough to design and create some beautiful stationary for the shoot. Becky was my first choice as she created all of my stationary as well as my logo and I love everything she does. I really liked the way that she incorporated the design of the end credits in the film too.

Megan was not only our beautiful model along with her boyfriend Dan but she also did ALL of the hair and makeup for herself and the other models on the shoot.  She did such a fantastic job in every area – a hugely talented lady!

Joanne Truby Floral Design created all of the floral displays and bouquet/button hole for the shoot and I  think she got it spot on.  The flowers were to be a huge part of this as they would bring together all of the key colours of Oz as well as adding even more vibrance to it.  Joanne did SUCH a fabulous job and I highly recommend her.  She has also typed up her own blog post for the shoot which you can read HERE

Lellas created the beautiful cake.  We discussed so many different designs for this but in the end we decided that something simple yet classy would be a perfect accompaniment.  I have worked with Charlotte from Lella’s cupcakes so many times and we have now become good friends.  As well as making the most stunning and tasty cakes, she is also a very lovely lady!

Frou Frou bridal boutique were our number one choice when it came to the dress.  We just knew that they would have the most perfect gown for Megan who was our Glinda the good witch.  As soon as we saw the Sarah Seven dress we knew that it would be just perfect, especially if we were lucky enough to get a sunny day! We were proved right and got so excited when sun shone through to Gazebo onto those sequins, it really did look magical.  The ladies at Frou Frou are incredibly helpful and the selection of dresses they have is really unlike any other bridal boutique.  Its the ideal place to visit if you are looking for something a little different and band on trend.

Event Covered supplied us with all of the festoon lighting and furnishings.  These lights made a beautiful backdrop to our party scenes and would be a beautiful addition to any wedding if you wanted to create some additional lighting in the evening.

Lets Enjoy The Little Things is the sister company of The House Meadow and they offer many of the items you see in the shoot for hire.  Click on the link to view their new Facebook page which has lots more information.

Ignite Films kindly created a behind the scenes film of our shoot which, as also mentioned above, I have previously blogged about  HERE.  I really cannot recommend these guys highly enough and they will offer anyone whose wedding I am shooting a 10% discount.  A lot of the images created in the evening were created by myself and Ignite so by having us there together we can create something a little extra special for you.
